Welcome to the easiest class in the game! Deception is the master of the “if it’s shiny, press it” mechanic. This spec utilizes a high-mobility, burst-heavy playstyle that relies on reacting to procs rather than following a strict, punishing rotation.
Skill Tree Setup (Single Target / Boss Focus)
For single target and boss encounters, this tree is built to maximize your burst windows and reset your harder-hitting abilities frequently.
- Priority: Focus on talents that enhance your Surging Charge discharges and Maul procs.
Stat Priority & Gear Setup
Accuracy
- 2694 Accuracy (110%)
Ensures your heavy-hitting saber strikes and Force attacks always connect.
Alacrity
Target 2200 – 2300 Alacrity to keep your GCDs fluid.
- 1.4s GCD: 2054 (7.14%)
With Alacrity Guild Perk:
- 1.4s GCD: 560
- 1.3s GCD: 3209
Legendary Implants & Tactical
- Legendary Implants: Dynamic Force & Force Training
- Tactical: The Awakened Flame
- Note: This tactical adds a powerful burn effect to your Crushing Darkness, providing a significant boost to your single-target burst.
The “Shiny Button” Priority
Deception is famous for having only 6 main buttons to worry about. Instead of a fixed loop, follow this priority:
- Reaping Strike: Your main priority whenever it is available.
- Discharge: Use whenever you have 3 stacks of Static Charge (it will be “shiny”).
- Ball Lightning: Use on cooldown to trigger your procs.
- Maul: Use only when it procs (it will be “shiny” and cost less Force).
- Assassinate: Use when the target is below 30% or when you get a proc.
- Voltaic Slash: Use as your filler to build stacks and fish for procs.
Playstyle Notes
- Reactive Gameplay: If a button is glowing (shiny), it usually means it’s at its most powerful—press it!
- Recklessness: Use this to instantly grant 3 stacks of Static Charge for an immediate Discharge.
- Stealth & Cloak: Use Phantom Stride from stealth to start the fight with an immediate advantage and proc your key abilities.
